I’ll always remember buying and fangirling over those 90’s casette tapes of JLo and Britney when I was younger. Attempting to sing like them (nope, no chance), dress like them (nope, too young) and lastly – have pretty hair like theirs.

I’ve always wanted highlights but people somehow made it seem like it might be too over the top or unnatural … until you meet the right people who know their stuff. I’m glad I did – at Gionyx!

Above everything always, I’ll forever love the genuine kind service at Gionyx. I walk in on a Sunday and the salon is quite busy. I was willing to wait for my turn til the receptionist Joy noticed I looked sleepy (and I SUPER was! Zzz). She asked if I’d like to take a nap in their VIP corner and gave me some pillows. Believe it or not – I woke up 2 hours later. Deep sleep! They even offered me tea when I woke up! :))

Anyway, now the pampering starts! I super love the service at this salon because 1. They only suggest on services you NEED and 2. You’ll always get an honest opinion. I’ve been wanting to get full bangs but they said, “Ma’am, di bagay.” :)) I love them! So, ok fine no bangs. haha!
Bright colored streaks
On this trip, I was due for some root-retouching with my previous hair color. I candidly suggested that I wanted highlights and I saw the spark in their eyes seeming like it was a great idea. So let’s do it! Always try something new, diba? 😉
Hair by Creative Stylist Ms Sunny
I left the most important stage of decision making up to their Creative Styling Ms Sunny – the color. She carefully assessed my hair and suggested this mid-dark brown shade. Not too far from my original hair color but you could distinguish it.
Feelin’ like JLo!
Ta-daaaa! It’s that kind of highlights that aren’t so obvious until your hair hits the light. I feel like I’m JLo with her highlights. I love how it’s so obvious when I tie my hair into a ponytail cos it has at the bottom, too!
