WHERE TO STAY IN BOHOL: My Amorita Resort Experience

by yukihigson

My Amorita Resort Review

Whenever people ask me where the best beaches are, without batting an eyelash I always say “Philippines”. It’s not even just about the beaches, it’s about the warm service and the resort staff that’s always all smiles. Recently (thanks to the help of AirAsia’s affordable Manila-Tagbilaran flights), I hopped on a plane to spend 3 days and 2 nights in the very luxe Amorita Resort.

Finally arrived in Amorita Resort, Panglao Bohol! | How to Get There

First off – let’s start with flights! There are daily direct flights to Tabilaran via AirAsia starting from Php1,990!

How To Get There (From Manila) – 80-minute flight

Name of Airport: Tagbilaran Airport (TAG)

Distance from Tagbilaran Airport to Amorita Resort: Around 40 minutes car ride

Mode of Transportation and Estimated Cost: From the airport, we were collected by the Amorita Resort team and you can arrange this with them when you book your accommodations.

Highlights: The yummy food, tapas, Alona beach, the cove

Insider Tip: Wake up early for the breakfast and try the spa. The villas, cliff and cove are so pretty so when you do book one – it would be pretty for drone footage. Hehe!

While there are lots to see in Bohol (the beautiful chocolate hills), this post will focus solely on our experience staying the full 3 days and 2 nights in Amorita. The resort alone sits on a five-hectare property – so there will definitely be a lot of things to keep you busy. So let’s start!

P.S. You can purchase this Kahon abaca macrame bag on any AirAsia international and domestic flight!

As soon as we arrived, we were immediately greeted by a gorgeous infinity pool looking down Alona beach. Look at the beautiful viewing deck! The resort is secluded atop a limestone cliff and immediately, it made me feel tranquil and relaxed.

Our Room: A Luxurious Pool Villa | Greeted with a Welcome Kit

After a quick escorted tour of the resort, we were taken to our villa – this luxurious 120 sqm. Garden Pool Villa! I couldn’t wait to sink in what seemed to be such a soft King bed furnished with a flat-screen cable  TV, Nespresso machine, speakers and most importantly – our very own pool and patio. Can I just stay here the whole day? Hehe

It couldn’t feel more tranquil just lounging around by the pool. Although the main goal is to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city – its a bad habit of mine to always take work even while on vacation. For those like me, you’ll be pleased to know that Amorita’s Wi-Fi is very fast and reliable! It’s complimentary too – like these yummy fruits and our room mini bar.

Bathroom of the Garden Pool Villa

The bathroom is nice and roomy – with a separate toilet cubicle and bath area.  Equipped with a rainfall shower, the pressure was lovely with hot and cold options, of course. What Rhea and I noticed is how fragrant the bath amenities were. Even better when we learned it is organic soap and shampoo.

The Dining Area | Saffron Restaurant

One thing I look forward to while on vacation – eating of course! We had breakfast and lunch here in Saffron Restaurant. I immediately fell in love with its interiors and eating by the poolside was such a treat.  They highlight whats in season and local availability but it also offers a wide range of Continental and Filipino favorites.

Distinct island ambience merged with organic modern aesthetic.

While at the resort, we attended an intimate media launch as AirAsia launched their newest menu and in-flight merchandise held in this outdoor area by Saffron. Read all about the exciting news here!

Amorita Resort private cove

Rhea and I took a wander down the resort’s private cove. It was like discovering such a private spot and having it all to ourselves!

At the private cove, you’ll see a cliff deck with lounge chairs to enjoy a spectacular sunset view.

The Sea Tree Spa

Tired from our flights and to cap off the day, I signed up for a 90-minute aromatherapy oil massage at Amorita’s Spa. Let’s just say the experience was drool-worthy. Literally.

Relaxing my mind, body and soul

Personalized service

We’d come back to our villa with our rooms kept twice daily. While we were lounging in our pool, we had fresh coconuts delivered to us! I love how the service was so personalized. It definitely felt like a getaway with superb service married with the signature Filipino hospitality.

Tomar! Tapas x Bar

We cheered away as we ate dinner tasting classic tapas, gambas and paellas – such a delicious selection of Spanish cuisine. Aside from the delicious food, Tomar! also houses carefully curated wine and whiskey selections. Yummy!!!

Going home with happy tastebuds and a satisfied curiosity – I definitely had a wonderful experience staying in Amorita. It was such a pleasant boutique resort experience and I already look forward to my next trip back. Thank you to the Amorita Team (Ms. Lyba and Kata) and the AirAsia team for hosting us!
