We all have that one relative that no matter how hard we think, it’s so difficult to give something cos that person seems to have everything. In my case, it’s my 93-year old Grandfather whom I call Angkong. Yearly, I always have a hard time thinking of what to give him until I brought out my Instax during our Christmas dinner this year!

When I first laid hands on my first Instax Mini, I was ecstatic! I couldn’t believe how easy it was to take this cute camera anywhere and anyone who gets their photo taken with it smiles widely. Most recently, Fujifilm’s Instax Mini 8 Instant camera released 2 vivid, fun colors added to the current lineup: Grape and Raspberry! I’m eyeing on this one!

Usually, I’d keep my favorite shots of the credit card-sized photos or send out some with short written messages. This year, I took out my Instax during our annual Christmas dinner and I took one of my Angkong (wearing pink). He was surprised he got his photo right away unlike digital cameras so I took more for him. At the end of the night, I gathered the photos and placed it in those budget picture frames and he was THRILLED! This is a great, affordable DIY idea if you’re thinking of something for your grandparents 🙂
