5 Instagram-Worthy Spots in Singapore

Instagram-worthy corners

I honestly can’t imagine how my life would be like if I didn’t start blogging and appreciating photography. I clearly remember back in 2010, I went to Bangkok with my best friend Kim and I absolutely hated it when she’d stop and take pictures. (Hi Kim!) Now, being a geek with cameras and video editing, I learn to look at places differently and it makes me more excited when I travel. Here are my favorite IG-worthy spots in Singapore!

1. Haji Lane

Walls full of color

I love the different restaurants along Haji Lane – it’s screaming of lovely art and uniqueness. Since the walls are quite colorful, it would be nice if you wore something plain (like color-blocking) as not to clash with the artwork and prints on the walls.

Taken in Chinatown

This wasn’t taken in Haji Lane (although looks like it) but we found this cute pink wall when we passed by Chinatown.

2. Gardens By The Bay

Cloud Forest | White knit set from Raffa Boutique

For an admission fee of SGD$28, it gives you access to the 2 conservatories of Gardens by the Bay – the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome. This is the largest glass greenhouse in the world and each corner of lush greenery is such a picture-perfect spot.

Cloud Forest

So the Cloud Forest mimics the environment – even what it will be like 2,000 ft above sea level. This conservatory is one of my favorite spots in Singapore and must-visit place if it’s your first time.

Big windows and glass panels

Did you know that 2,577 glass panels of 690 different shapes and sizes were needed to cover the whole 12,000m2 surface area of the dome? So the lighting alone makes it so easy to snap photos.

As you make your way to the top, you’ll be greeted by fresh blooms popping out from every corner. These white orchids are my favorite! PS. Shout out to Kuya Miguel of Gionyx Hair & Nail Salon for my new french brown color and platinum highlights. I love it! 🙂

After exploring the Cloud Forest, we headed to the Flower Dome Conservatory. I must admit, I enjoyed the Cloud Forest more but you’ll love the huge succulents from the Flower Dome.

3. National Museum of Singapore

Get lost creatively. Wherever you travel, always make it a point to check out a museum because it’s literally a gold mine for information AND will surely have artsy interiors. This photo exhibit inspired me to take photos differently!

When heading to a museum, wear something a bit more dressy / smart casual. I suggest a midi-length dress or a cute turtleneck / trousers combo. We found this little spot hidden between the plants!

4. Chijmes

In Chijmes

I love everything about this place – the tiles, the pilars and white-washed walls. The delicious restaurants surrounding the compound is a bonus!

I love the floral accents in the background of this photo. It makes the place look so alive during the daytime but during at night, Chijmes transforims into this extra lively resto/bar vibe with a live band.

Aside from pretty floors and walls, Chijmes has plenty of eating places to choose from – SO GOOD, I had dinner there twice in a row. Thank you to my good friend Nick for snapping and creative-directing these photos! 😛
