Red Charity Gala 2015
It’s true what they say – you can never be too poor nor too busy to give back. Through our own little (or huge) ways, there is always something we can do to reach out to the less fortunate. Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Kaye Tinga, the event’s organizers, know how to do it – in style! This year, they team up with none other than London-based Filipino designer – Lesley Mobo.
in Makati Shangri-La
There is a first time for everything – I didn’t know what to expect as soon as I arrived in Shangri-La. My friend who goes every year simply said, “Wear something nice!” Indeed, it was a night for glamour, fashion, art and most importantly – charity. Everyone loved to dress up and eat scrumptious food but all shared the same intention – stand for a cause.

Red Cross is one of the first movers (and fastest!) when a calamity hits the Philippines. I found it so heartwarming that every year, people gather together and through their seat or table purchases, they help raise funds for this organization. The Red Charity Gala benefits the Philippine Red Cross and the Assumption High School Batch 1981 Foundation.
A Not So Silent Auction with Tim Yap and Tessa Prieto-Valdes
One of the highlights of the night – the auction with Tim and Tessa (plus, the lady with the very sossy Brit accent.) Through the years, the Red Charity Gala has raised over P12 million. This year, the silent auction moved swiftly with premium items auctioned off such as: a Parisian holiday package and accommodations at Shangri-La Paris for two; a membership share at Balesin Island Club worth P2.2 million; Piaget jewelry; Rimowa luggage; and Remy Martin cognac, among many others.

100% of the proceeds made during the Silent Auction are donated directly to Red Cross. Isn’t that such an amazing concept – you bid for premium items AND get to spend for a good cause? I wish I bid for those Madonna VIP tickets. Haha!
Salome Uy wins trip to Paris
Clad in Rhett Eala, Salome Uy was one of the lucky guests who won the raffle. Her prize – a trip to Paris! How lucky!
with the ladies of Te Amo Floristeria – Cybill Juarez and Amy Peng
Spent the evening with these two lovely women – Cybill and Amy. They generously sponsored gifts for the guests and prepared a beautiful Red Charity Gala preserved rose for the ladies to take home. Thank you also for providing these photos! 🙂
Yuki Tansengco
I’d like to thank the young designer, Noelle Maxine Lee, for dressing me up that evening. I loved the golden appliques all over the gown and the low back cut. Thank you to Kuwit for my clutch – it is actually a REAL book upcycled into something so elegant.
with Mariana Mayorga
The event was well attended and all the tables were filled up. Bumped into a lot of familiar faces including my good friend – Mariana!
Getting interviewed by Jacob Benedicto for TV100 On-The-Go
I’m quite excited for this new show coming up hosted by my friend – Jacob. He asked me what I was excited about. Aside from Lesley Mobo’s show, I told him I was excited to see the “swag room” the organizers prepared for the guests aka a room full of giveaways. Haha!
Yuki Tansengco, Kaye Tinga, Amy Peng and Cybill Juarez
So beautiful – Kaye is clad in Lesley Mobo with her hair and make-up done by Henri Calayag Salon. Thank you for having us, Kaye! 🙂
Kaye Tinga, Ben Chan, Lesley Mobo and Tessa Prieto-Valdes
Everyone was in awe after the show. Here are the organizers with London-based Filipino fashion designer Lesley Mobo – after he presented the Red Collection. Mobo is the eighth featured designer of the annual gala – his show-stopping pieces luxurious but edgy. Just like Kaye and Tessa’s gowns, very glittery and a lot of bling.

Thank you to my glam team Blo Blow Dry Bar and Liz Oren! I had a headband braid done paired with loose beach wave curls and a sultry smokey eye look by my amazing make up artist Liz using Jazzy France Cosmetics. It stayed on the whole night!
