in Balesin I cant believe it’s almost March – the cold Berrr months are coming to an end (can you feel it?) so it’s time to embrace the sun! The Island Life On the last day of our Balesin trip, I made sure to slip into something comfy and city-appropriate. Slacks on the beach? Why not! Jaspal top from Adora | Abby Jocson white tote SM Accessories brown floppy hat | Vintage silver cuff Forever 21 Grid cuff Silver & Gold This top is so beautiful but one thing I learned – sequins kind of trap heat inside so it got REALLY warm after a while. Haha! At Balesin Island Club Yuki Tansengco See you soon, Balesin! My Style Cat Hope you all have a blessed Sunday and thanks for dropping by!!! 🙂 (Photos by Alaysa Bisnar)

Shape up or ship out This is it, page 1 of 365 once again and everyone’s excited to craft their own little list of resolutions to ring in the new year. Unfortunately, only around 10% of the list is kept throughout the entire year – maybe even less. So let’s keep it simple, shall we? 5 Resolutions for career in 2015 Personally, I listed a longer one but I realized if we keep it short, we have less to remember and a bigger chance of focusing on each one. Like most things in life, these are just suggestions I’m offering so feel free to agree or disagree with me. Which ones made the list? Hello, 2015! No matter how contented we are with our career and other aspects, it doesn’t hurt to find a little room for improvement. So before crafting your list, ask yourself, “What would I like to do differently this year?” I’m sharing with you mine! 🙂 SM Accessories taupe floppy | Daniel Wellington watch 1. Get up, dress up and show up I’m not saying you should look catwalk-ready on the most casual days but dressing up appropriately helps you play that dream role you’re working hard for.…

in my holiday uniform In a country wherein we have only 2 seasons, I get pretty jealous when the fall/winter collections come in after July. My favorite brands stock up all the layering pieces you can think of: scarves, coats, hats and wool socks but unfortunately, no cool weather here to wear it – unless it’s the holidays! Layering in Manila I have learned a little cheat sheet when it comes to layering in Manila. Let me know if you agree with me! Mango plaid dress | Zara boots | Forever 21 thigh highs I’ve always wanted to own thigh-high booties but that would obviously be too warm for our climate. Instead, I re-created that look and wore thigh-high cotton socks instead. Avoid material such as wool cos that’ll be too warm! Veloci Voyager Watch The synthetic material of the dress isn’t as warm as it looks. Plus, the length gives a lot of ventilation. Haha! To keep it simple, I paired this look with a Veloci classic Voyager watch. Check out Veloci on Facebook! Mango red purse Since the majority of the outfit is in blue/black, I paired a bright red purse from Mango for a pop of color.…

Librarian chic Hold on – you definitely wouldn’t want to flip the page on this one. Just when I thought I’ve seen it all when it comes to upcycling – local brand “Kuwit” proves me otherwise. Behold, the “Nobela” clutch bag! Ruby, zero visibility We can all celebrate in relief that typhoon Ruby has left the country. It was a rainy afternoon, as you can see the puddles reflecting my OOTD, but reality continues. It was kind of chilly today, hence the ala grade school socks. What do you think? KUWIT handmade book bags Don’t you think it’s such a creative idea? You haven’t seen the details yet! Kuwit Nobela bag (used as a sling) | Zara suede black heels It feels like I’m back to my grade school days wearing black shoes with ankle socks. The TRUTH behind that is the shoes were a tad bit too big so I wore socks for it to fit snuggly. Just right! I dub this as the “Librarian look” :)) Kuwit | Handcrafted upcycled books I love how it is ORIGINALLY a book that has been given a second life in the form of a fashion accessory. It’s so smart! It gives that comforting…

Reviving Manila Swagger Let’s get down to business. Nothing feels more corporate than a button down and pinstripe trousers. Gotta wear business attire for school soon? You might want to consider this stripe on stripe combo. Stripe on Stripe Well, this dressy ootd is inspired by a recent visit to a local yet modern barbershop – Felipe & Sons. It’s a must-visit if you’re in the Makati area! Yuki Tansengco To be honest, I woke up one morning and texted a guy friend, “Please bring over your pink striped button down – I need it for my outfit today!” Good thing he cooperated and brought it over. See? No harm in asking. 🙂 Topman Pink pinstripe top | Vintage trousers Print on print isn’t as scary as it sounds. The prints don’t have to be in the same color palette as the other fashionistas say – it can work too if it’s the same pattern like these stripes. Four Eyes PH “Charteux” frames I’m wearing a pair from Four Eyes PH! You should seriously consider it if you plan on buying glasses soon. This one is really sturdy plus it’s affordable, too! Hair by Blo Blow Dry Bar The holidays are coming up!…

Style war-ready Attention, soldier! Camo is making a camo-back (see what I did there?) this season and it should never have left! It’s one of the most coveted prints because of it’s neutral palette and this time, I discovered a new piece with this war-ready print. Yuki Tansengco Who says you can’t mix prints when wearing camo? Of course you can. Here are some tips to style your camo piece. American Apparel black romper Since camo is usually known as a masculine print, it’s OK to show off a little skin. I could’ve worn this parka with black jeans but that might appear too into the fatigue theme but then again, it depends on WHERE you’re headed to. Abby Jocson Shayne camo backpack | Php1450 I’ve been eyeing on this backpack ever since it was launched on the @abbyjocson Instagram and I’m GLAD I finally have it!! This bag features a zipper closure, inside pocket and only for Php1450. I love locally made goods – designed by my good friend, Abby, too! To order, check out Abby Jocson on Facebook. Forever 21 Olive green parka I’m into the fall/winter style pegs now even though it’s always summer in Manila. I…

Normcore I’ve been seeing the word “normcore” a lot lately and I learned that it’s a hybrid between “normal” and “hardcore” aka a lazy dressing. Haha! I guess I know have a word when asked to define my style? Sort of. Yuki Tansengco I’ve always been a lazy dresser but I still make it a point to look put-together and neat – it’s a tough balance! When it comes to events, heels will always be my last resort since I find (most of) them uncomfortable. Thrift shopper at heart I found these vintage coordinates in a garage sale pile. I like wandering around thinking: who owned these before? That’s the interesting (and slightly scary) part of 2nd hand shopping – your piece always has a story. Forever 21 gold cuff I have two theories: the lady who used to own this must’ve 1. worked in corporate under sales (possibly a fun brand) or 2. she could’ve been a teacher or guidance councilor. I figured the length is too short for conservative schools. Haha! Topshop black doctor bag To downplay the corporate vibe of the coordinates, I paired it with my favorite mandals and black bag. There is really nothing comfier…
