In Full Bloom
You probably keep reading it everywhere but really, the FULL summer feeling in the Philippines is here! If it weren’t for the corporate requirements of my job, I’ll find myself staying away from blacks and dark colors.
in Makati Shangri-La
I was in Makati Shangri-La for the Sensodyne: Say NO to NGILO event – you can read about it here. Catch and I discovered this pretty walkway along the way and it was so windy.
I love jewelry pieces that make a statement but aren’t too overpowering. What do you think of these ones from Calima? I’m also wearing my favorite shade of Estee Lauder lipstick. Can you guess what shade it is?
Let me show you some ways I do to keep cool in the summer!
Versace floral printed trousers | Debenhams court heels
First and foremost, balance the colors of your outfit. If you are already wearing a dark-shaded top, opt for a lighter pair of bottoms and accessories. Contrast is key!

Next, make your outfit “buildable”. I’m not sure if buildable is a real word but what I mean is, make sure you can layer and un-layer your oufit! I put on a blazer when I go to work then afterwards, I can just take it out for a more relaxed look!
Fun in the sun
Third, have fun in the sun by being protected! Put on sunblock with SPF 15 minutes before you head out. This way, it gives time for your skin to absorb the product.
Estee Lauder Pure Color lipstick in Fuchsia Fever
Fourth, less is more when it comes to make-up – be minimal! The last thing you want during the heat is when your make-up cakes up and you feel all sticky. Always have a powder compact in your purse. I love this pink bright lipstick from Estee Lauder – very summer! Add some blush and you’re good to go!
Calima Jewelry | gold plated & hand-painted silk
Fifth, don’t wear too heavy or chunky jewelry. It might lead to sweat and if you’re acidic like me, you’ll feel itchy. I love this Calima necklace! Woven with blue handpainted silk, it’s gold plated charms and semi-precious stone are light and feels comfy! To order and see other pieces, check ‘em out on Facebook!

And last but not the least, my sixth tip. The mane event! You might want to skip and pin the bangs for this season. Our hair has natural oils so you might want to keep it out of your face to prevent breakouts.
