Afternoon High Tea with OFRA Cosmetics

I’m the type of girl who will still hoard lippies even if I have 20 others in a slightly similar shade. Nothing feels better than going out with a bare face and just your favorite lipstick on. Calyxta, an online magazine + beauty source dedicated to filling us in on the latest beauty news, recently launched their first ever Calyxta Beauty 101 session. On this day, we intimately discovered a matte lippie holy grail from one of its top-selling brands: OFRA Cosmetics.

I call it a “secret room” – super loved the elegant set-up on the second level of Bizu in One Rockwell. I was excited to learn about OFRA and at the same time, Calyxta planned an etiquette forum with a very inspiring woman – Bianca Valerio.

It’s a swatch party!

While waiting for the others to arrive, the other bloggers were swatching the lippies. Right below me is a photo I took of Shen Lee and across me was Lia doing swatches as well.

Believe me, you will instantly fall in love with OFRA Cosmetics. They have lots of nudes, berry tones, red and even extreme ones like BLUE. With just one swipe, you can clearly see how pigmented the product is. As for staying power, I’ve been trying the OFRA Liquid Lipstick for a week now and it stays on pretty much the whole day. I just casually retouch with the #13 lipstick!

A fun afternoon talking about lipstick, career and love with Bianca

I super enjoyed this intimate afternoon with the Calyxta Team and beauty bloggers. Aside from looking good on the outside, we should definitely be graceful and ladylike when it comes to dealing with people. Bianca shared with us funny situations and how to escape from it. Have you ever forgotten someone’s name but too shy to ask? Don’t know how to receive a business card? How to introduce your boss? It was a light informative afternoon of basic things we should know.

My current favorite combination is the Americano Liquid Lipstick paired with the #13 lipstick. Good news! Surprisingly, OFRA’s Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks come in a wide array of colors. They had a lot of burgundy browns and brownish pink shades that I liked and they also surprised us with the unconventional shades that are so unique. With regards to staying power and texture, my lips don’t feel dry when I use them and it stays put.

Here I am wearing OFRA’s liquid lipstick in Americano – a brownish burgundy shade. It’s so 90’s ala Janet Jackson in her “Someone To Call My Lover” music video. Bizu served really yummy snacks to go with our afternoon high tea.

Congrats on the successful (and first!) Calyxta Beauty 101 event! I wish we had more time to discuss random things related to career and make-up. Nonetheless, I’m so glad I was introduced to OFRA Cosmetics cos I feel like I’ve been missing out from all these pretty shades!
