Bensimon DIY @ Common Thread
Ever since the start of my blog, I’ve always been one to choose comfort over style. I would honestly pick a pair of comfy flats over sexy stilettos, if it suited my destination. Although a pair of heels would’ve looked nicer, I prefer something I can run in. WHAT IF – you see something that had both comfort and style?
Ready-Set-Customize!
Meet the first ever pair of sneakers I dared to customize. How did I do it? It’s easy as 1-2-3, promise!
In partnership with Craft Manila
I got SOOO excited when I received the invite. DIY + shoes + Bensimon?? Yes, please! If you check out my past blog posts, I have 2 pairs of Bennies which I wear out A LOT. :)) It’s so amazing how a simple pair can compliment so many outfits in a clean, polished look.

Inspired by a Parisian lifestyle (where everyone and everything effortlessly looks great), Bensimon has stylishly introduced a sneakers concept combined with a French fashion sense. It has an iconic style and a sumptuous blend of colors.
BEFORE | Bensimon Tennis sneakers
Their sneakers range from Php2095 to Php2595, depending on the design. I currently have a white tennis Elly pair and an oxblood color sole one. I arrived at the event and quickly got this squeaky clean white pair with laces!
Getting my DIY on!
My DIY seatmate was already laughing at me cos I seriously was staring at my white pair for a good 10 minutes – yes, TEN! I didn’t know what design to put cos the pair itself was already perfect to me. Then I looked at my feet and saw CATS on my flats so I’m like, “I’ll make a panda!”
AFTER | Panda-fied!
I’ve always wanted panda sneakers. I did this really quickly! First, I painted small black triangles as the ears, a nose and a mouth line. Then I searched for oblong black buttons (Thanks Craft MNL!!!) and made it eyes. Voila! Then outline with a black Sharpie.
