On sustainable living
Just like how vegan food can get pricier compared to fastfood, I often wonder how it’s possible to live sustainably AND affordably? A social enterprise teaches us how to make it possible!
Something new for Rags 2 Riches
Meet Reese, co-found of Rags 2 Riches (R2R)! Most recently, they launched it’s R2R Living collection and has partnered with SoFA Design Institute to talk about this new partnership.
Yuki Tansengco
I love how this brand discussed on how we can bring sustainable design into our very own homes – fashionably and without damaging our pockets.
Bags from Rags 2 Riches (Liz Uy Collection)
I’ve always been an avid fan of R2R because of it’s cause and it’s amazing bag designs so when I heard they were going to launch a HOME collection, I was so excited to hear about it!
R2R Living
So what exactly is R2R Living? Reese Ruiz and the Dean of SoFa, Tobi Guggenheimer, tells us all about it!
Vintage dress from mom | Forever 21 strappy heels
If I were to decide, I’ll categorize this outfit as “sustainable” fashion. This dress is vintage so I’m still making use of “old” pieces and my bag is R2R – made from woven scrap cloth!
in Makati
To launch their latest line, R2R collaborates with SoA Design Institute and partners with designers like Amina Aranaz-Alunan and Rajo Laurel for R2R Living.
Proudly Filipino
You always must learn to love your own. R2R Living also features an exclusive designer line, produced in collaboration with the very talented Filipino-French designer Olivia d’Aboville. More power to locally made goods and talent! 🙂
With Architect Toby Guggenheimer
I learned so much from this event! R2R invited Arch. Toby to talk about bringing sustainable design into our homes. I was very inspired to think long term! Always think that sustainable living is an investment and not something “pricey”.
Rags 2 Riches purse
Rags 2 Riches Inc. is the Philippines’ foremost for-profit social enterprise. They create eco-ethical fashion and home accessories out of upcycled scrap cloth, organic materials and indigenous fabrics, and by working with artisans living in poor communities across the country.
Open forum with great minds
During the event, Reese and Tobi exchanged thoughts and showed very important points – how it’s truly possible to be “eco-friendly” when purchasing items for the home. You can start with the simple ones like mats and pillows! R2R living offers reasonably priced items. Mats are only Php150!
Hair by Blo Blow Dry Bar
Thank you Isa Escano for taking these photos! I got a Blo out in Blo Serendra and this is “Hunt Club”. I love the volume on the crown and sleek ponytail look! Follow @bloheartsasia on Instagram! 🙂
Reese Fernandez Ruiz and Yuki Tansengco
Wuhoo! Congratulations Reese and the whole R2R Team for the successful event (especially to Matt!) I’m sure a lot are looking forward to R2R Living! 🙂
