Normcore I’ve been seeing the word “normcore” a lot lately and I learned that it’s a hybrid between “normal” and “hardcore” aka a lazy dressing. Haha! I guess I know have a word when asked to define my style? Sort of. Yuki Tansengco I’ve always been a lazy dresser but I still make it a point to look put-together and neat – it’s a tough balance! When it comes to events, heels will always be my last resort since I find (most of) them uncomfortable. Thrift shopper at heart I found these vintage coordinates in a garage sale pile. I like wandering around thinking: who owned these before? That’s the interesting (and slightly scary) part of 2nd hand shopping – your piece always has a story. Forever 21 gold cuff I have two theories: the lady who used to own this must’ve 1. worked in corporate under sales (possibly a fun brand) or 2. she could’ve been a teacher or guidance councilor. I figured the length is too short for conservative schools. Haha! Topshop black doctor bag To downplay the corporate vibe of the coordinates, I paired it with my favorite mandals and black bag. There is really nothing comfier…

Vintage I’ve always been a fan of wearing knits but I’ve never found the right weather or timing to pull it out. One rainy afternoon, it was really cloudy so I dug up this dress that belonged to my mom and decided to pull off a modern Audrey Hepburn. What do you think? Knit game: Strong When wearing knits, I try to keep my accessories minimal to focus on the intricate details on the fabric. Yuki Tansengco Here are quick tips on how to pull off knits here in the Metro! Vintage knit navy blue dress | Topshop knit cardigan | Zara boots | Abby Jocson tote Knits obviously have the tendency to be warm so I make my outfit versatile by bringing a cardigan. Since the hemline of the dress is already short, I use it to wrap around my waist. I picked out a printed one to contrast the solid color of the dress. High Society I opted for a simple updo hairstyle so I picked “High Society” which is one of Blo’s 7 Signature Hairstyles. I love how you can tweak it from a slick bun to a messy tie knot like this. Vintage jewelry I have…

A World Without Strangers I’ve always been fascinated with street style photography – coming up to a total stranger and asking if you can snap their photo. I follow a lot actually, The Sartorialist, Humans of New York, etc. Lately, a came across a very interesting one – a photographer who solely focuses on Asians. Asian beauty I’d have to say that its our colonial mentality that makes us want to be so western. All the whitening product ads, wanting a sharper nose, lighter hair color, bigger eyes – when in truth, I believe Asians are beautiful as they are. Shoot with @asian_impressions Today, meeting and shooting with this streetstyle photographer strengthened my theory. Us Asians girls are beautiful! 😉 Proud Race jacket | Zara maxi | Tres Shoes wedges I was thinking, “How does this work?” I mean aside from the obvious fact that these photographers go around and spot stylish people on the street aka “streetstyle”, they probably also plan some shoots, right? Shot by Teban of @asian_impressions It all started when my fellow blogger Dez Lim (@dezadrienne on Instagram) shared her excitement to shoot with the popular streetstyle photographer, Teban. I got excited and asked if I…
