Reviving Manila Swagger Let’s get down to business. Nothing feels more corporate than a button down and pinstripe trousers. Gotta wear business attire for school soon? You might want to consider this stripe on stripe combo. Stripe on Stripe Well, this dressy ootd is inspired by a recent visit to a local yet modern barbershop – Felipe & Sons. It’s a must-visit if you’re in the Makati area! Yuki Tansengco To be honest, I woke up one morning and texted a guy friend, “Please bring over your pink striped button down – I need it for my outfit today!” Good thing he cooperated and brought it over. See? No harm in asking. 🙂 Topman Pink pinstripe top | Vintage trousers Print on print isn’t as scary as it sounds. The prints don’t have to be in the same color palette as the other fashionistas say – it can work too if it’s the same pattern like these stripes. Four Eyes PH “Charteux” frames I’m wearing a pair from Four Eyes PH! You should seriously consider it if you plan on buying glasses soon. This one is really sturdy plus it’s affordable, too! Normcore I’ve been seeing the word “normcore” a lot lately and I learned that it’s a hybrid between “normal” and “hardcore” aka a lazy dressing. Haha! I guess I know have a word when asked to define my style? Sort of. Yuki Tansengco I’ve always been a lazy dresser but I still make it a point to look put-together and neat – it’s a tough balance! When it comes to events, heels will always be my last resort since I find (most of) them uncomfortable. Thrift shopper at heart I found these vintage coordinates in a garage sale pile. I like wandering around thinking: who owned these before? That’s the interesting (and slightly scary) part of 2nd hand shopping – your piece always has a story. Forever 21 gold cuff I have two theories: the lady who used to own this must’ve 1. worked in corporate under sales (possibly a fun brand) or 2. she could’ve been a teacher or guidance councilor. I figured the length is too short for conservative schools. Haha! Topshop black doctor bag To downplay the corporate vibe of the coordinates, I paired it with my favorite mandals and black bag. There is really nothing comfier…

Vintage I’ve always been a fan of wearing knits but I’ve never found the right weather or timing to pull it out. One rainy afternoon, it was really cloudy so I dug up this dress that belonged to my mom and decided to pull off a modern Audrey Hepburn. What do you think? Knit game: Strong When wearing knits, I try to keep my accessories minimal to focus on the intricate details on the fabric. Yuki Tansengco Here are quick tips on how to pull off knits here in the Metro! Vintage knit navy blue dress | Topshop knit cardigan | Zara boots | Abby Jocson tote Knits obviously have the tendency to be warm so I make my outfit versatile by bringing a cardigan. Since the hemline of the dress is already short, I use it to wrap around my waist. I picked out a printed one to contrast the solid color of the dress. High Society I opted for a simple updo hairstyle so I picked “High Society” which is one of Blo’s 7 Signature Hairstyles. I love how you can tweak it from a slick bun to a messy tie knot like this. Yuki Tansengco To be honest, I sometimes get confused with the term “smart casual.” For some odd reason, it doesn’t translate the same way everytime I see it on the invite so does that mean we should play by ear? Monday Blues In my workspace, we are allowed to wear “smart casual” and whatever makes us feel comfortable at work – staying within the “corporate attire” guidelines. Always sticking to blues and blacks. Dress Code 101 So really, what is the difference between casual and smart casual? There’s even “business casual” 😀 Parisian suede blue flats For this outfit, it looks sort of casual with the high waisted pants but rows back to smart casual because of the colors and the button down. Although some workplaces strictly require heels, it’s also good to pack both heels and flats when you’re at work. Hair by Jing Monis When it comes to the hair, casual would be down and undone while smart casual would be a sleek ponytail or set curls. Thank you to Jing Monis for my hair! I think I need to re-color it! Ferragamo 2-way sling For the bag, casual would be colorful bags in various sizes and smart…
