in my holiday uniform In a country wherein we have only 2 seasons, I get pretty jealous when the fall/winter collections come in after July. My favorite brands stock up all the layering pieces you can think of: scarves, coats, hats and wool socks but unfortunately, no cool weather here to wear it – unless it’s the holidays! Layering in Manila I have learned a little cheat sheet when it comes to layering in Manila. Let me know if you agree with me! Mango plaid dress | Zara boots | Forever 21 thigh highs I’ve always wanted to own thigh-high booties but that would obviously be too warm for our climate. Instead, I re-created that look and wore thigh-high cotton socks instead. Avoid material such as wool cos that’ll be too warm! Veloci Voyager Watch The synthetic material of the dress isn’t as warm as it looks. Plus, the length gives a lot of ventilation. Haha! To keep it simple, I paired this look with a Veloci classic Voyager watch. Check out Veloci on Facebook! Mango red purse Since the majority of the outfit is in blue/black, I paired a bright red purse from Mango for a pop of color.…

Librarian chic Hold on – you definitely wouldn’t want to flip the page on this one. Just when I thought I’ve seen it all when it comes to upcycling – local brand “Kuwit” proves me otherwise. Behold, the “Nobela” clutch bag! Ruby, zero visibility We can all celebrate in relief that typhoon Ruby has left the country. It was a rainy afternoon, as you can see the puddles reflecting my OOTD, but reality continues. It was kind of chilly today, hence the ala grade school socks. What do you think? KUWIT handmade book bags Don’t you think it’s such a creative idea? You haven’t seen the details yet! Kuwit Nobela bag (used as a sling) | Zara suede black heels It feels like I’m back to my grade school days wearing black shoes with ankle socks. The TRUTH behind that is the shoes were a tad bit too big so I wore socks for it to fit snuggly. Just right! I dub this as the “Librarian look” :)) Kuwit | Handcrafted upcycled books I love how it is ORIGINALLY a book that has been given a second life in the form of a fashion accessory. It’s so smart! It gives that comforting…

Vintage I’ve always been a fan of wearing knits but I’ve never found the right weather or timing to pull it out. One rainy afternoon, it was really cloudy so I dug up this dress that belonged to my mom and decided to pull off a modern Audrey Hepburn. What do you think? Knit game: Strong When wearing knits, I try to keep my accessories minimal to focus on the intricate details on the fabric. Yuki Tansengco Here are quick tips on how to pull off knits here in the Metro! Vintage knit navy blue dress | Topshop knit cardigan | Zara boots | Abby Jocson tote Knits obviously have the tendency to be warm so I make my outfit versatile by bringing a cardigan. Since the hemline of the dress is already short, I use it to wrap around my waist. I picked out a printed one to contrast the solid color of the dress. High Society I opted for a simple updo hairstyle so I picked “High Society” which is one of Blo’s 7 Signature Hairstyles. I love how you can tweak it from a slick bun to a messy tie knot like this. Vintage jewelry I have…

A World Without Strangers I’ve always been fascinated with street style photography – coming up to a total stranger and asking if you can snap their photo. I follow a lot actually, The Sartorialist, Humans of New York, etc. Lately, a came across a very interesting one – a photographer who solely focuses on Asians. Asian beauty I’d have to say that its our colonial mentality that makes us want to be so western. All the whitening product ads, wanting a sharper nose, lighter hair color, bigger eyes – when in truth, I believe Asians are beautiful as they are. Shoot with @asian_impressions Today, meeting and shooting with this streetstyle photographer strengthened my theory. Us Asians girls are beautiful! 😉 Proud Race jacket | Zara maxi | Tres Shoes wedges I was thinking, “How does this work?” I mean aside from the obvious fact that these photographers go around and spot stylish people on the street aka “streetstyle”, they probably also plan some shoots, right? Shot by Teban of @asian_impressions It all started when my fellow blogger Dez Lim (@dezadrienne on Instagram) shared her excitement to shoot with the popular streetstyle photographer, Teban. I got excited and asked if I…

High Slit, High Hopes Ever since that day Kendall Jener wore that double-slit to the MMVA’s, I will not be surprised with the next celebrity who’ll wear something that will leave little to the imagination. Haha! Ahm Rihanna’s dress last time Yuki Tansengco But slits can be fun! You can place ‘em in the most unexpected places just like this “Jamie” top from Teena Sabrina. Coincidentally, my jeans too! in Two Parkade, BGC I wore this outfit to an event which you can read about here. Probably the last person but it’s my first time to check out Two Parkade. I love it! They have Dr Martens! Care for some extra wind? Messy hair, don’t care I’m one who never brushes her hair but what I’ll never miss out on is hair care! I just tried on a deep conditioning treatment from Macadamia Natural Oil and the results are fantastic! Teena Sabrina Slit Top | Zara black denim | Debenhams heels I’m starting to rethink if I should’ve worn this outfit without the jeans? Lol! Just kidding. Or maybe one of these days. Hahaha! Sabrina | “JAMIE” Shift Top So breezy! Wear this top as a dress or as a…

Garage white crop top | Aldo carry-all | Zara pointed suede pumps It’s been really warm lately but to avoid showing off too much skin, this is what I wore to an event during broad daylight. Lady In Red When you shop, don’t you always find yourselves sticking to neutrals? Getting something in either black, white, beige or grey? How come? Challenge yourself and pick out things with a pop of color! Yuki Tansengco Lately, I realized that I were to choose the next “neutral” color to add in my wardrobe, it’ll be red! Believe it or not, but a pop of red will go absolutely with anything. Zara red trousers Paint the town red! Lemme me show you how else you can incorporate red in your daily outfits! in Makati In my past blog posts, I discussed how you can play around with the smart casual dress code at work. You don’t need to stick to the blacks and dark blues because with our weather lately, definitely black is something to shy away from. Zara red trousers | Debenhams court heels I actually wore this at work and my colleagues liked it! It’s a fresh take and the red instantly brightens up your look. You can add the “neutrals” touches with your bag and shoes! Ferragamo Vara 2-Way Embossed Hand Bag I love how this bag is just right for its size. I used to think…
