When in Cebu
Most recently, I flew to Cebu in an attempt to source more woven bag suppliers. On the same trip, my friend Kate suggested we stay overnight in Solea located in Mactan, Cebu. The resort is handled by the same management of Sand Bar Cebu so I was quite keen to check it out! Rest assured, it was such a fun trip and I am glad I checked it out. Keep reading to see what I loved most about Solea.
How To Get There (From Manila)
Name of Airport: Mactan Cebu International Airport
Distance from Cebu airport to Solea Resort: Around 1.5 hours
Mode of Transportation and Estimated Cost: We took Kate’s car from Cebu city to Solea but on my next trip there, I will take an Uber. I will update this post when I do so but when you book a room, Solea also offers hotel transfers from the airport.
Highlights: The service, food, lovely pools and its connection to Sand Bar Resort!
Insider Tip: Rent out a pool floatie! (Save yourself from the hassle and just leave yours at home!)

Staying in Solea honestly felt like an extension from my own home. As soon as we arrived, Kate and I were greeted cheerfully at the lobby area by the Solea staff. We waited for around 15 minutes for our room to be ready and the whole ambience of the resort was just lovely.

Lovely hotel interiors
Clean, comfy rooms
When we got to the rooms, I was impressed by the size of it. The beds are big, comfy and the aircon was so cold – something I distinctively remember about Solea. We were situated on the second floor and I was so torn between sleeping all day and taking photos by the pool.

Interiors of the room
As for the room rates, it starts at Php6,000 (++) for the standard rooms. If you’re traveling with a big group of friends or family, you can also opt for the Presidential suite.
Bathroom amenties
Solea is generous with welcoming its guests (we got a yummy dessert platter and a cute post card upon arrival!). I love the bathroom too, it’s clean and quite roomy – plus you have these little cute bottles of toiletries at your perusal.
Room service and yummy food | Curtsy travel blanket
Kate and I were too tired to head out for dinner so we ordered room service instead. We ordered pizza, nugget and fries and it was so good – their servings are pretty generous!
Earth dining area
As for the buffet, the net rate is Php1200 per head and currently, they have a Buy 1 Get 1 free promo when you dine during weekend lunch and dinner buffets. What a good deal!
