Long distance relationships may be quite difficult but there is always a bright side with having friends who live far away – you get to visit them and when you do, they’ll be your number one tour guide! Recently, work had brought me to Cebu so I quickly asked my friends where is a MUST VISIT place – this is one of them.

I squealed with excitement as Kara mentioned that we’d be visiting Sandbar Resort on my last day in Cebu. I’ve only been in Cebu thrice (for Sinulog) and it was my first time to hear about Sandbar. I didn’t know what to expect but anything with the word “resort” or “island” seals the deal.

Around a 30-minute drive from the Cebu city proper, Sandbar Resort is located on Mactan Island together with all the popular resorts and staycation places.

You’ll immediately be greeted by the hospitable staff of Sandbar resort. If you aren’t checked in (like us!), you have to settle a certain amount to be able to use the resort’s facilities. Here are some photos of the venue:

“Love Island”

Generally, the feel of the whole resort is so clean and classy. According to Kate, this “Love Island” can be rented out for sunset dates. How romantic!

What I also like about Sandbar Resort is their private pool area. It’s so calm and serene, just pop out your speakers and you’re in for a relaxing afternoon – in private! Beside the pool are the cabanas for occupancy. I want to stay there in my next vist!

Staying in this area made us feel like we had the pool all to ourselves. Sandbar Resort is a perfect destination if you want to do a day trip or even better – overnight!

We heart Sandbar!

It was a quick visit and right after swimming, I was off to the airport! It was a short and sweet stay but I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice, clean and private resort to visit. It’s also near the airport, too so we were able to take our time.
